GPS is only used during visit verification. When you arrive at a tour spot and tap the check-in button, your current location is verified.
When you arrive within the verification radius (about 300m) of a tour spot, the check-in button becomes active. Tap it, and GPS will verify your location. Once confirmed, you'll receive a digital stamp for that spot.
